Rather than stand back and document the day from a distance, I prefer to get right in the mix, joining the festivities in order to capture all the joy and emotion from an insider芒鈧�鈩�s perspective. I芒鈧�鈩�ll do whatever it takes to get a great shot, be it dancing with Grandma, running barefoot down the beach, or joining the conga line with camera in hand.
  
  It is an honor to be chosen to capture such a rare and special moment in life, and I work hard to be worthy of that honor. But along with hard work, I bring a sense of fun and playfulness, and I believe that I elicit these qualities from others.
  
  Additionally, I view a wedding not only as a joyous event, but also as an opportunity to create artistic images that will stand the test of time. This is a challenge in its own right; hence I am always looking for a creative angle, a unique shaft of light, a pensive moment; any opportunity to capture beauty or emotion. Perhaps this comes from my background as a musician, or simply because I芒鈧�鈩�m an artist at heart. The bottom line is, I love people, am a born romantic, and find weddings to be incredibly rich and stimulating canvases for creating beautiful, memorable images.

  An 8 hour coverage of your wedding day starts with the bride and/or groom getting ready till the cake cutting. Eighty-five percent of the day is documented in a photo-journalistic manner and the remaining fifteen percent reserved for formal portraits. Well-known for his untraditional style in his portrait session, Alfonse鈥檚 approach is to get the most natural and relaxed feel to catch a fashion and editorial look.
  
  
  BIO
  
  
  Alfonse Pagano鈥檚 background has its roots in fine art. A recipient of several grants including the New York State Foundation of the Arts, his mixed media and oil works were exhibited at the Carnegie Mellon Museum of Art and the Laguna Gloria Museum of Art. In 1994, after a distinguished career as a painter he turned to photography as an art form. Following an inspired idea, he embarked on a project that took him around the world. The result was a collaborative compilation of images and interviews of people from all walks of life delivering a personal philosophy behind their dreadlocks. In1999 the photo-documentary book 鈥淒reads鈥� was published by Artisan/Workman. Currently in its sixth printing, 鈥淒reads鈥� has earned both national and international acclaim, with exhibits at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, University of Maryland, Paterson Museum, Stevens Institute and recently a subject featured on NPR.
