Keyboards,Lead Vocals
Jeff began playing organ and keys from an early age. He always loved to sing, and was never afraid to belt out a tune in front of a crowd. Jeff was one of the founding members of "the Unmentionables," established in 1996. Since then, he and the Unmentionables have played every venue imaginable in Redding and the outlying areas, including Win River and the Convention Center. Jeff was voted one of Bose Corporation's 6 "Pioneers" of live music in 2006, and received the rare honor of a personal audience with Dr. Amar Bose. The Bose L1 Systems used by the band are still going strong, providing sparkling sound quality at even the worst of venues.
Al Mires
Rhythm/Lead Guitar/Vocals
Al has 30 years of musicianship behind him including touring, recording, composing, teaching, and more. Some artists Al has worked with include Miami Sound Machine, Raphael Padillia (Paula Abdul Band) Brad Hawkins, actor Steven Seagal, Merle Haggard, and Yuerg Eichmann, His original fusion band "After Dark" toured and recorded at Sony records under the production of Paul Klingberg. Al is one of Northern California's best guitarists, and has been a true blessing to the Unmentionables.
Steve Draeger
Bass Guitar/Vocals
Steve has a true passion for music. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from California Baptist University, with an emphasis on vocal performance. Steve truly has perfect pitch, both vocally and instrumentally. He plays a number of stringed instruments, with bass guitar being his primary performance tool. Steve has been a member of the Little Country Church Worship Team since 2005, and is the most recent member of the Unmentionables.
Levi Duncan
Percussion, Vocals
Levi was brought up with music, inspired by his older brother he began to listen and see how music changed people mood, how it made them happy or sad or even bring crowds of people together. So he started learning percussion. He started playing a drum kit in the middle school's jazz band and symphony helping take them to state competition at Chico State University and Reno for nationals and winning 1st in jazz and symphonic band in their division. During his high school years he played in a few garage bands and worked with a band named "Whistletoe" as their sound and lighting engineer, while also being their backup drummer. A drummer for "Fishbait " a contemporary Christian band. Levi auditioned for Unmentionables in the spring of 2012, and the band knew right away that they had found their drummer.
When you hire the Unmentionables for your event, you are getting a top-shelf, professional band. We typically play 45 minute sets (up to 4) with a 15 minute break between sets, but if the crowd is engaging, we keep the energy going. You will not find a clearer sound overall in the Redding area, due to the use of Bose L1 Towers for performance. We also have lighting and effects available for your event.
